IAR NATIONAL CONGRESS – MILAN – 20/21 OCT 2023
The IAR 2023 National Congress aims to be an interactive event with the active involvement of Participants. With this in mind, the first day on Friday is intended to be a state of the art on what are, or should be, the solid pivotal aspects in the practice of those who treat nasosinusal inflammatory pathology: diagnostic work-out and definition of difficult-to-treat forms, standard medical therapy, surgical therapy, and biologic therapies. Afterwards, the Enrollees will be divided into groups, one for each topic covered, and will be involved in a discussion aimed at dissecting the less clear and more challenging aspects to produce food for thought and questions. The following day, a representative, chosen from among the group members, will expound on what his or her group produced and question the group of “Experts.” Saturday’s conference work gg will end with a Lectio Magistralis given by Professor ANSHUL SAMA of Nottingham.
About us
The Italian Academy of Rhinology was founded in Milan on May 25, 2012.
The “Founding Members” elected Professor Paolo Castelnuovo as the first president.
The founding congress was held in Varese on June 23, 2012: 189 participants were present.
By the end of the distant 2012 there were 226 members of the IAR.
In 2015, Matteo Gelardi (Bari) followed as president for the following three-year term.
For the three-year period 2018-2021, Alberto Macchi was elected as the Third President during the
inter-academic congress held in Naso.
Frank Rikki Canevari is the current President of the IAR, who will serve until 2024, elected in
Bologna on October 16, 2021.
The IAR strives each year to organize conferences and events with up-to-date, high-quality
educational content to foster networking and knowledge sharing among different specialists and
improve the rhinology landscape worldwide.
